Matthew who originates from Porthcawl, South Wales first started golf at the age of 10. Growing up playing golf at the prestigious Pyle and Kenfig Golf Links he quickly gained a passion for the game of golf. Over time Matthew soon realised that although he was capable and was successful in tournament golf his passion lay in coaching. It was when he turned 17 that he decided that coaching was his way and he started to attend the David Leadbetter Academies in the UK to further develop his game as well as his coaching ambition.
Once gaining his degree with the British PGA through the University of Birmingham, Matthew travelled the world extensively to gain further experience of cultures to allow him to gain more experience. Coaching took Matthew to Malaysia, Dubai and Portugal before he accepted a coaching role for David Leadbetter in China a life long dream and something he’s very grateful for.
In 2010, Matthew accepted the new role in Poland at the prestigious Toya Golf and Country Club where he was working with some of the countries most talented junior golfers and helped them establish themselves at a new level of performance in European Junior Golf. In 2013 Matthew opened MTGA and from here has helped students to gain scholarships in the USA whilst students to date have won over 50 combined International and National titles.
In late 2016 Matthew reached out to the Worlds leading Short Game Instructor James Sieckmann to discuss an opportunity of representing him in Europe and Asia as his Tour Coach. Having followed James Sieckmann for many years, Matthew quickly realised that James proven methods and ideas of the short game were aligned with his own and after many discussions and meetings Matthew was honoured to accept the role representing James in Europe and Asia. Matthew has spent numerous hours with James and his tour players and at private schools assisting and running classes in Your Short Game Solution.
Matthew is K-Vest Level 3 certified as well as Trackman Level 2 and the Eastern European representative for AimPoint. Matthew works with all levels of players throughout Europe and Asia and directly assists James Sieckmann in the USA.
